Samuel L. Jackson had a lot to say about the fact that black men were missing at the Oscars.
"Where were the black actors?"
"I guess they didn't think we were available to read teleprompters that night ... not a bigdeal, hopefully it'll get better ... it wont happen again."
Jackson also said, "We work in town ... they know who we are, they know we're available to be on that show to represent the people of color who are in the business in town."

Yes Sam they know , they just do not care. This is for whites only Sam as soon as black people get that the better off we will be. We can start making our own films and stop prostituting ourselves for them to show us in a negative light.
Of course they know, but the best way to make talented people look unimportant is to ignore them. They did this with album oriented rock in the late 70's, smooth jazz, black WW2 and Civil War soldier stories, and black and African history._@,,?!!!
America is doing a great job of blacking out black people! The best way to do this is to keep 'black' appearances in television and movies at a minimum.
There are at least two reasons for them to do this. Number one is that they boost their 'white' presence exponentially as the beautiful and good. Number two is that they disappear and reduce 'blacks' to both an ugly spot on 'America' and as an unimportant people altogether.
There are psychological aspects to what they do, but there are also other aspects that are negative to 'blacks', but positive to 'whites' and Jews.
I could say something as mundane as follow the money, but that might not be a clear enough statement to make for some.
So lastly I say take all things into consideration, especially the fact that this is still an overly racist, white supremacy country.
I think that they know who to call to appear on the show. They have been doing this awards show for decades now. I think they are tramatized by Monique and the blacks who came for her. They'll try to get Hallie Berry back somehow or someone like her,
They were unable to clear their crack smoking schedule.
